The production of 3 large size roofing tiles - Rumba, Twist and Bolero – has been launched in the new plant of the Tondach group in Bekescaba (Hungary).
The most up-to-date technologies for each step of the production lines have been chosen by Tondach in order to produce high quality roofing tiles and fittings. As for grinding and raw material process which are major steps, Tondach chose CERIC –within the frame of the joint-venture with Poittemill – for the design and supply of the dry grinding workshop. This choice was determined thanks to the remarkable results that have been achieved in Kanjiza (Serbia), another Tondach plant supplied by CERIC. The very fine dry grinding of the raw material guaranties a zero default product (no lime grain). This process enables increasing the mechanical features of the body tile and to produce an exemplary surface state.
Rieter, a Keyria company, has supplied the plant with 2 extrusion groups and 2 large size presses DR6/200 type allowing each machine to press 3 large roofing tiles at the same time.
As for the dryer, CERIC has supplied plastic auto-stackable drying trays ACP type. This system ensures an optimal support and ventilation of the roofing tile during the critical phase of the drying. It also allows using very simple and performing handling principles while giving an easy and secure accessibility to every equipment parts of the production line.
Large size roofing tiles are flat fired on refractory individual supports (H) in order to guarantee the ideal geometry of the finished product. The H shuttles handling system marketed by CERIC have especially been developed in order to allow movements without knocks or impacts so as to avoid damaging the supports and reduce the operating costs.
Concerning the packaging system, CERIC has supplied an automated robotized line which allows dealing with 2 types of different products at the same time. The final packaging design has been made in order to maintain and protect the roofing tiles during the transportation between the production site and the end user.
The total production of the plant will be of around 30 millions roofing tiles per year and 2 millions fittings.
